This Week’s Sunday Scroll

Weekly post featuring four Instagram photos that stopped me in my scroll.

You guys… it has been such a busy week. On top of the errands and to-do lists, there was also a lot of gorgeous autumn content on Instagram. It was so hard to narrow this week down to four, but here is what I have for you.

This is a dreamy autumn shot of @nordingarden‘s yard. It makes me want to hop on a plane to Sweden. Who else is in love with the colors of fall leaves?

This is how I get my Florida wildlife fix on the daily. @gatorboys_chris does amazing work with nuisance gators. He shares videos from his days volunteering with gators and his dives, like the photo above. Did you know that alligators are my favorite?

I love when people take part in creative challenges. This sketch from inktober’s Swing day is so beautiful. I don’t even think I knew that @annahutzky drew like this. I love it

Last, but not least – this is an account that I just started following earlier this week and I’m in awe of these photos. You guys should go check out their feed. Every day scenes taken in such a dark and striking way… I’m obsessed! Thank you, @her_dark_materials

This Week’s Sunday Scroll

Weekly post featuring four Instagram photos that stopped me in my scroll.

Four posts already! Can I officially say that I’m actually sticking to a weekly post? Let’s be honest… probably not. We will wait until I hit at least 10 weeks. I’ve been thinking about adding themes though – what do you guys think? Maybe some weeks would feature artists, photographers, travel, local business etc. I’ll think on it.

We will start this week with some good boy cuteness!

This pick me up post from @andrewknapp did exactly that! I couldn’t get over this cute picture of adventure pup Momo. A very good boy in a very pretty field of flowers. I love seeing Momo’s adventures!

Okay, I know I’ve shared a shot from @girlnextdoorhoney before, but this is the most autumn relatable post to cross my feed. It’s a swarm of bees settling their hive in a ceramic pumpkin! How perfect is that??

This shot from @richardandrose spoke to my soul. It threw me back to the few short years I lived on an island in the Azores. I don’t know if it’s the vibrant colors or the haphazard stack, but it felt like going home.

This last one is a total art appreciation post. I actually really love to paint with water colors, but I’m not good at it. That’s not the case for @helen_dardik whose fun little painting fill my feed with imagination, adventure, and beautiful colors palettes.

And that wraps up Sunday Scroll number 4!

Dayton Area Fall Favorites

It’s finally September, so if you haven’t gotten spooky yet – now is the time! I started decorating around August 1st because I was just too excited to wait. Would you be interested in some Fall decor photos?

Since moving to Dayton, Stephen and I have developed some favorite annual Fall events that we always attend. It’s been super exciting to share that with CJ as she gets older. We LOVE autumn. The tree changing colors, the welcoming fall decor, all of the mums, spooky decor, and the crisp cool air speaks to us.

Two weeks ago was the Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival and even though this is mid August, it really feels like the start of autumn for us. It’s held every year around the 3rd weekend of August at the Fairborn Community Park. The dinner is what draws us in – blackened chicken, corn fritters, lemonade, and fresh steamed & delicious corn!

Another favorite is Katie’s Pumpkin Barn. This is a small place and it is not a u-pick pumpkin patch. It is better because it is literally a barn full of every color, shape, and size of pumpkin you could imagine. The barn is always decorated for the spooky season and usually opens at the start of September.

They have a live stock that you can look at and sometimes pet. They even have a small corn maze that is super friendly for small children. I think what I love the most is the classic Halloween decorations. Katie’s is our favorite stop in Autumn!

Peifer Orchards is a new place that we explored last year. We went Apple Picking! Again, this venue isn’t huge, which is what we loved about it. They sell mums, baked goods, pumpkins, and apples. You can do your own apple picking, which is so fun! It’s a bit of a walk down the path, so if you have little kids make sure to bring their strollers. CJ got tired and just sat down in the middle of the trail last year after all of the excitement. This year, we will bring the stroller.
